1. Required Documents

 

For a legally valid wedding in Florida, you need:

• Valid passports for both partners

• Marriage license – we will apply for this with you on-site.

 

Important: If either of you has been married before, you may need the divorce certificate or death certificate of the previous spouse (translated into English).

2. The Marriage License – Here’s How It Works

 

Before you can get married, you need to apply for a Marriage License. It’s quite simple:

• We will arrange an appointment for you at the “Clerk of Court” office

• We will personally accompany you during the application process to ensure everything runs smoothly

• The license is immediately valid, so you can get married right away.

 

Good to know: Unlike in Germany, there is no waiting period for international couples in Florida!

3. Is the Marriage Recognized in Germany?

 

Yes! Your marriage in Florida is also valid in Germany. You will need an official marriage certificate with an apostille. We will assist you in applying for it and ensuring it gets safely to Germany.
